These terms apply when you use makjal.com (“Mak Journal”), subscribe to its email or WhatsApp updates, or message Mak through the services connected to it. By using the site or its updates you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

The journal

Mak Journal publishes motivational and reflective writing for general reading. It is not professional, medical, legal, financial or career advice. Some drafts and illustrations are prepared with the help of AI tools and are reviewed by Mak before publishing. Use your own judgement before acting on anything you read here.

Subscriptions and messages

Email and WhatsApp updates are free and are sent only after you confirm them. You can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link in an email or by replying STOP on WhatsApp. Birthday, anniversary and festival greetings are a separate, optional service and can be stopped the same way. Delivery depends on email and WhatsApp providers and on your network, so we cannot promise that every message arrives or arrives on time. Your carrier or provider may charge you for data or messages under your own plan.

Automatic replies

If you message Mak on WhatsApp or by email, a short reply may be written by an automatic assistant. These replies are for convenience only and do not create any agreement or commitment. For anything important, wait for a personal reply from Mak. How your messages are handled is described in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Please do not misuse the site or its messaging: no attempts to break in, overload or scrape it; no false subscriptions using another person’s email or phone number; and no abusive, unlawful or spam messages. We may block addresses or numbers that do this.

Content and copyright

The writing, images and design on this site belong to Mak unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to share links to posts and quote short passages with credit and a link back. Please do not republish full posts or images, or use them commercially, without written permission.

Links to other services

The site links to services run by others, such as WhatsApp, Meta and appointment booking. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

Availability and liability

The site and its updates are provided “as is”. We try to keep them accurate and available, but they may change, pause or end at any time. To the extent the law allows, Mak is not liable for any indirect loss or damage arising from using the site, its content or its messages. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.

Privacy

How we collect and use your information is explained in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
